T. Gephart always has the ability to write a fun and laughable romance, keeping it light-hearted and entertaining the whole time.
Ashlyn and Dan have a quick romance that starts off on the wrong foot during Ashlyn's job interview where she bumps into Dan. The renowned playboy in the Power Station band and he solely believes he can win Ashlyn over with his playboy charm and innuendos, but Dan hasn't met anyone like Ashlyn and she certainly doesn't make it easy for him. Dan gets hooked on Ashlyn and ends up doing a full 180 on his playboy ways in a short amount of time. I believe the time span from them meeting to actually becoming a couple in the book is only a week, maybe two which is a super quick turnaround for me and probably one of the reasons I didn't rate this book higher. I didn't have time see all the characters emotions and there wasn't enough of the book to focus on the characters feelings towards each other over a longer period of time.
I have read a few of T. Gephart's books and this one wasn't my favourite. It did tend to skim read a bit but the characters are funny and witty just like in any of her other books. It was a super quick read and the side characters are just as intriguing. I can't wait to see what they bring to the series and I'm sure the books only get better.
