It was the freak show aesthetic that initially drew me to this book, but it was my curiosity to know the ending that kept me going… and did not disappoint. It’s one of those stories that ends in ways you didn’t see coming, and that isn’t easily or casually explained to someone who might inquire about what you’re currently reading. I have always claimed to love a slow burn, and this was a similar but different experience—an incredible collection of events and stories over the course of a decade, just so that you may understand the complex context leading up to the utterly satisfying final chapter of the book.
