I am not a fan of the author's writing style, as it's more about making introverts feel good about themselves than about the actual research and studies behind the personality type. Ms. Cain seems more concerned about empowering her fellow introverts to push back against the "extroverted ideal" that Western business and society has encoded as the secret of social success; than talking about the psychology behind introversion (which was what I was hoping to get out of this book). She has amassed a lot of research and information on the subject, but she is also liable to intersperse it liberally with tedious "fear of public speaking" anecdotes and fantastical extrapolations of the information she presents.
If you are an introvert that wishes to be reassured that your personality isn't "wrong" or "bad", read this book. If you are more interested in the research and data, I'd speed read it or simply skip whole sections to the relevant parts.
