I don’t know what to say.
Somehow this book is everything and nothing at the same time.
It follows a group of college students that study greek and Latin and the stuff they do (can’t say too much because it’s a spoiler)
From the first page you kind of know what will happen but you also don’t.
I have a love-hate relationship with this book. It’s philosophical and complex but also relatable and interesting. The only thing I hated were the long chapters and the fact that this book is so long and some subplots are not really necessary. But on the other hand they enrich the plot.
It took me about 3 month to read the first 400 pages but the last 200 I read in less than 24 hours.
And somehow I love every character (except for Bunny) and hate them at the same time.
The ending had me shook and all these twists and turns had me in a chokehold.
Donna tartt is a genius but her chapters are sooo long. And I loved the way she portrayed each character especially Richard because she made him the unreliable narrator he was meant to be.
Not sure if 5 stars are too much or not enough.
