Over the Garden Wall Vol. 1, Volume 1
by Amalia Levari, Jim Campbell
The first story in this volume was silly, whimsical, and colorful. It's a sequel of sorts to the miniseries with Greg going on a mini adventure and being his adorable, accidentally helpful self. I liked it, but probably isn't something I'd come back to.
The second story follows Anna, the daughter of the woodsman and was set before the miniseries. I found it more compelling, personally, and enjoyed the additional lore added on. It honestly could probably stand alone without prior knowledge of the miniseries, which is a great strength for it. It had a more melancholy, pastoral, autumnal feel to it which was reflected in the carefully chosen colors in the illustrations. I loved this one!
