The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Vol. 1: Squirrel Power by Ryan North, Wil Moss, Maris Wicks, Kyle Starks, Chris Giarrusso, Rico Renzi
4.0
I have picked The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl as a part of the Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge. Lately none of the superhero comic have held my interest so I was highly skeptical of this one.
However, this comic is a surprisingly entertaining reading with a light tone and funny atmosphere. The story puts a nice twist on already established Marvel villains, has a great mash-up of current pop culture trends and treats the readers with Squirrel Girl's original story with a reprint of the Iron Man's issue from the early 1980s. Doreen Green is a dorky girl with lovable character that many geeky girls can identify with. A lot of fun!
