I’ve not read any other books from this series and I’m still a little undecided on whether the series can be joined anytime or not. The story itself felt like its own; I found it cool she owns two businesses, not sure why she’d want to no longer have both because I felt she did a great job managing both and those events helped her P.I. business. I do feel if I were to start from the beginning I would have understood why she had multiple businesses, I wouldn’t be wondering what her ex did, I’d understand who the cousins are, and I would like her relationship with Mike more. I’m just not feeling those two.

Saying that, if you’ve read other books from the series, definitely check this one out. I like the mystery of the cases and coming up with my own conclusions. I feel readers who are into clean, P.I/police reads will enjoy this series. I’d like to go back to the beginning so I can get a better feel of the characters since the story/plot did keep me interested.
