Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451: The Authorized Adaptation by Ray Bradbury

3.0

The plot is just as great as the novel, but if you hadn't read the original before, you could very easily be confused. The illustrations contributed little to the story and just reinforced what was being told through text. Being a graphic novel, I wish the book would have shown more than it told. Tim Hamilton could have gone a lot further with the illustrations than he did. There was also the irony of how in Fahrenheit 451, the comic books survived while the books became less popular, and now the story itself is in a comic form.

I highly, highly recommend Fahrenheit 451, but do not recommend this adaptation unless you have already read and understood the original. I gave 3 stars out of 5 because of the great story it told, but took the two away because of the poor execution in how it was told.
