extremely uneven. some chapters were excellent, others total duds. also, unsurprisingly but annoying nonetheless, Blom is like every obnoxious post-Arendt liberal who always makes sure to equate the Soviet Union with the fascist states of the 20th century . . . at times even by parroting Nazi propaganda! but what else can one really expect, i suppose
