Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

5.0

The third Harry Potter is one of the more obscure entries in the series. The plot is all over the place in terms of scope, and the time travel component in the last couple of chapters really ties everything together nicely.

My favorite part about this book is the friendship-development between Harry and Hermione. I love their friendship so much, and their bond definitely strengthens throughout this novel. I want to be equal parts Harry (brave, outrageous) and Hermione (intelligent, cunning). We all know they are the OTP of the Wizarding World.

Comparing this book to the movie though... I think that the movie did not do this book justice. I did not like the way they went about any of the important scenes (The Firebolt, how Sirius escaped from Azkaban, the entire ending of the movie). I really enjoyed the way the movie was filmed though. The blackened colors and grim details really shine throughout it.
