The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver

5.0

I love stories about alternate timelines, and this one was a bit different in that the protagonists slides into a life where Freddy lives while asleep and goes on with her normal life while awake, and not two separate timelines like in the movie Sliding Doors. I found the first half a bit slow but the second half really picked up as Lydia rediscovers herself and who she is without Freddy. This is a lovely and touching story about grief and finding yourself after unspeakable loss.
