The Joy of Lesbian Sex: A Tender and Liberated Guide to the Pleasures and Problems of a Lesbian Lifestyle by Emily L. Sisley, Patricia Faulkner, Charles Raymond, Anne Yvonne Gilbert, Bertha Harris

emotional funny lighthearted fast-paced

2.5

Jam-packed with bizarre and often contradictory assertions ("lesbians always reach orgasm in their lovemaking", "women are multi-orgasmic and men are not... to be a woman though is to have seemingly limitless energy", decrying BDSM as something freakish that few real lesbians do but encouraging bondage, spanking and whipping, roleplay, and costumes in separate entries), but also very touching in its real-life depictions of lesbian sex practices and beliefs, both standard and outré. A real '70s time capsule of middle-class lesbian attitudes. Not to be relied upon for anything other than historical interest and occasional inspiration.
