The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery

5.0

I just finished this book and I feel...anguish. But the good kind. The kind you get when you finish a brilliant book (and oh, the way it finished!) and you can't believe that it's done. It's left a hole in my heart and I don't know what will fill it. Nothing soon anyway.

This book can be a bit tedious. Muriel Barbary, a professor of philosophy, has not only sprinkled but left a lot to chew on. Sometimes it was welcomed, sometimes I wanted to skim through the pages. But then sometimes it tugged on all the strings in my heart such that it felt like just for a second it would stop beating.

Definitely recommended but beware, it's not for the faint-hearted.
