When you constantly challenge the norm of your community, you're often going to get stares and remarks flung to your back. It's the attempt of escaping this, that sends Sarvenaz Naz Singh from Vancouver to New York.
In a desperate to prove to her family and her self, Naz ends up taking the first thing that lands in her lap, which ultimately falls through. On a prayer, she gets a better and more solid footing, if only it didn't have to involve the very neighbor she yelled at, her first night in New York.
Jordan Evans has his life planned and sorted. Making as the youngest CFO of Spectrum, living in a spare of his own, and loving his family in his spare time. It's only when a petit Indian woman is banging on his door at 3am that his life takes a sudden turn. Suddenly his work life, home life, and spare time are revolving around keeping Naz at his side.
The growth of Naz coming to trust herself and this relationship that she gets thrust into are key to showing how she breaks her own molds. The secure sense of self that rounds out the story between Naz and Jordan is as adorable as it is heartwarming.
