Rescuing Wendy
by Susan Stoker
I really wanted to enjoy this book. This author is one of my favorites, however, I could not get past the way that the hero talked about women. Even if the woman who interrupted the initial meeting between the two characters was in the wrong, calling her a whore, bitch, and other names was inappropriate. Dragging his fingers over her breast was also terrible. I could not finish the book, so I skimmed through it and the difficult moments was when the hero gets mad at the heroine for good reason, then says that she is no better than the whore that tried to scam him. This is usually not the kind of thing that she writes, so it really shocked me. I'm very disappointed, and unfortunately, if this is a trend that is going to continue in her work, I don't know that I can read her anymore. Which is really sad as she is someone that I auto-by.
