loved the relationships between the sisters and how the story unfolded over time through different perspectives. 

i understand why julia would hold a grudge against sylvie but it was wrong to keep alice from the rest of her family, in my opinion.  i didn’t really understand why rose would abandon the rest of her daughters after she abandoned cecelia, maybe because of the grief of losing her husband.
