“Niceness is all about what we do when other people are looking. Kindness, on the other hand, runs deep. Kindness is what happens when no one’s looking.”

I'm a sucker for the newfound family and sunshine-grumpy tropes so, of course, I liked this.

Mika, Jamie, Altamira, Terracota and Rosetta, Lucie, Ian and Ken are all perfectly loveable characters but the book focuses more on Mika's POV. I would've liked to read about their thoughts, too.

I think it's my first time reading a witch story that is more potion-making than spellwork, which is also lovely. I wish it remained wholesome though. I didn't like the sex scene but I didn't hate the romance either.

The backstory about the witches' curse is not new but it fits perfectly.

I'm also currently listening to My Dark Vanessa so this book is a perfect break from all that darkness.

Precious and endearing, this is a nice cosy read. However, this book may also be a bit twee for some.
