Fighting for What's His by Laura Kaye

4.0

I am absolutely loving this series!

Fighting for What’s His is Billy Parrish’s story.

Billy was caught in a trap while overseas and suffered second and third-degree burns to a good portion of his body. He suffers badly from survivor’s guilt and The Warrior Fight Club is his saving grace.

When his best friend from the Army Rangers asks him for a favour he never thought it would be to give his kid sister a place to love while she settles in DC. But when Shayna arrives, she’s not just a kid sister anymore. She’s a beautiful twenty-six year old woman.

His eyes were dark fire as they bore into hers. “You’re just starting out in life. Everything ahead of you, full of possibilities. But me…I’m a busted, used-up soldier without an army or a war. And I’m supposed to be looking out for you, not taking advantage of you.”

Shayna always had a crush on Billy Parrish growing up. She didn’t see him often but when she did she couldn’t get enough of him. Now, she finds herself living with him and the chemistry between them is out of this world.

This story takes you on the journey of these two amazing characters trying to find themselves and their belief in themselves.

I loved the action scene that happens towards the end and I loved Shayna’s character. She cracked me up.

The only thing I feel was left unresolved was Billy finding what he wanted to do. A few times there’s a reminder that he’s not happy with what he’s doing as a career and I would’ve liked to see him find his niche.

Other than that I loved this story! I can’t wait to read the next one!
