Logan's Run by George Clayton Johnson, William F. Nolan

I read this on the strength of an NPR article that was about sci-fi kids should read. Jason Sheehan said of it, "The madness of rote obedience, police states and xenophobia has rarely been better handled..." -- WHAT? That is absurd. This book was trememdously sloppy. It reads exactly like crappy 60's pulp sci-fi, not even good 60's crappy pulp sci-fi. The world-building was especially sloppy. There are SO MANY FLAWS with the central premise if you think about it for a single second, which leads me to believe the authors didn't really think about it.
