I get it. I 100% understand and support the hype around this book. There is not a single thing that I didn't like about this story and honestly, I am blown away. It's a little scary to read a book with so much hype because you either hate it or you love it and I am so glad that I finally decided to start this series because I. Loved. It!!! Amber Nicole surprised me with her writing style, it's so well-developed and yet, absolutely easy to follow and just so captivating! Not to mention how amazingly the world-building was done, so thought-out0 and so detailed but not at all hard to understand.

I really loved the concept of this book, I love the history of the gods, I love where they are currently in this story - after the war of the gods - and how significant this makes certain characters. Dianna is just absolutely amazing, I love that she isn't mortal, that she's morally grey leaning on villain BUT that she's still herself, she still has a connection to her human self. I love the monster she is, what she can do and the mystery surrounding that part of herself. I just really think her entire character is just so cool and I love it!

As for Samkiel, he is not at all what I thought he would be! The World Ender. The last god. The truly immortal god. And yet he is so... Human? Okay, firstly, he is hilarious. He is from a completely different time and so out of touch with the modern world and I love how Amber was able to convey this and make it a lighthearted and funny characteristic of his that brought some comedic relief to a heavy plot. He also struggles so much, with PTSD, guilt and adapting and I just feel like this makes his character so real and relatable! I also loved side characters like Gabby and Logan. The ending was literally insane, I was horrified but at the same time, it made me super excited for book 2!
