The Layover by Lacie Waldon

2.0

My biggest gripe ever is when books are being a drag for 80%+ of their lenght only to have everything magically sorted out withing the last 2 chapters.
I could live without the lengthy inner monologues, the main character always assumes the worst in every situation and she's also lying to herself so I don't wanna hear it.
I could live without learning unnecessary memories and characters.
And I could live without unnecessary misunderstandings.
Instead that much energy should have been focused on building a more believable relationship and fixing the "magical" ending into something less sudden.
Or making everything sound less YA and more adult-ish.
