This was everything I could've asked for! On the one hand, the banter between Jacob and Mr. X was really funny, but there was nonetheless just the right amount of mystery regarding this unknown man's identity. Even though there's an ex-boyfriend involved, there was never any unnecessary drama or miscommunication that might've made the plot drag, and I personally lost myself in this little short story as I tried to figure out alongside Jacob who this Mr. X was. Excellent palate cleanser in-between longer, and/or more complex, reads!
