Anne of the Island by L.M. Montgomery
5.0

5- This was such a delightful read. I loved this book so much! Again, keep in mind that I’m an avid Anne of Green Gables Fan.

This book had me gripped from the start. It was so funny reading about Anne’s university experiences, as they were very relatable and similar to my own university experiences.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Christian and faith-based aspects that were interwoven throughout the book. It was so lovely reading the faith-based advice that the characters in the story gave to one another. For instance, when Ruby Gillis was dying and was afraid to go to heaven due to her fear of change, Anne gave her sound advice by stating that there is no fear in death to for the Christian life as we will be united with our Heavenly Father. This is just one of the many examples where faith was mentioned.

Another aspect I loved about the book was Anne and Gilbert’s relationship. It was so sweet and wholesome! My heart melted reading this book. Gilbert is actually the best fictional man. He waits so patiently for Anne and continues to care for her even after she breaks his heart. So much respect for Gilbert.

I would 100% recommend this book to anyone! Young or old, you will love this story!
