All of Our Demise by C.L. Herman, Amanda Foody

3.0

2.5 - Not as brutal as it promised to be, but solid for a YA sequel. I enjoyed this much more than the first book. Themes get explored, characters are rounded out, but the plot plods along in (IMO) the most boring, YA way possible. The Hunger Games is a classic because the plot was willing to *go there,* and sadly this book just doesn't follow in its footsteps. Show me a version of this where Alistair goes apeshit after certain plot points and this would probably be a 4 or 5 star for me.

Side note: the romance was a bit much. Not every character needs their own romance sideline. If you're gonna give someone a love interest, make it Hendry, because my man deserved better. /j
