This is one of those books I read and immediately started recommending to people. It's a smart and funny take on the self-rescuing princess scenario, with a good supporting cast that includes a sweet but dopey dragon. It'll be of special interest to anyone in need of more good material with non-white protagonists, and/or anyone trying to subvert some of the more toxic Disney princess tropes.
