Something I discovered sometime ago about myself is that I enjoy a plot centered story.  I do not have the patience for character driven novels.  Hot Springs Drive is less of a story and more of a character study.  It is disserved by the wealth of POV characters, some of which are insignificant. There is a murder, it happens in the middle of the book, the culprit is identified, caught and convicted a few pages later.  I knew why he did it as well so......  It was a glimpse of people before and after a tragedy.       If you would like to steer clear of reading about teenage masturbation or eating disorders I'd avoid Hot Springs Drive.
