Lunch Poems by Frank O'Hara

challenging emotional funny lighthearted reflective fast-paced

4.0

A delightful collection of poets from one of the most overlooked American poets of the mid-century. Frank O'Hara becomes a close friend in his poems, and the reader becomes his confidant. We hear his musings on modern art, on the movies, on burgeoning queer love, on his favorite meal (lunch), and on everything else. Although not quite the shock that Meditations in an Emergency was, personally, the poems call the reader back, and reward your time and attention.
