I could wish that more Christians would read the church fathers. Certain "orthodoxies" of today were condemned heresies in the early church and now those which hold a very ancient orthodoxy are condemned as heretics. What's worse, the ancient faith is often maligned as being "brand new." A person may disagree, and that's fine. But one must first listen. If he condemns others simply because "I've never heard that before", he must be careful. The fault could be his. Listen earnestly to others. The voice you hear may be older than your own. That ancient voice, for me, was Athanasius.
