A Court This Cruel & Lovely by Stacia Stark

4.0

i’m honestly really disappointed by this book, in the beginning i was going to dnf because i thought it was boring but then i watched some tiktoks and decided to pull through, and for a while i was happy the plot was really picking up.

i liked the magic system and everything that was happening, we find out that the fmc is a hybrid fae and that’s why the gods rejected her powers and she has this little enemies to lovers with the mercenary going on, but once we got to the last third of the book, it just started to get boring, like this book made me realize i don’t really like “hero’s” because going out of your way to save all of the captives when there was barely and plan just made no sense, this girl operated on the magic she barely knew how to use and good luck.

the romance was nice at least, i could really feel the tension, but of course there had to be a betrayal and we find out that lorian (the mmc) was fae the whole time. there were so many tiger plot twists and things but i’m going to be honest, i just don’t care. sad i gave this book a chance.
