The Joy of x: A Guided Tour of Math, from One to Infinity
by Steven Strogatz
As a short book this didn't go into very much detail for any of the topics and I thought it jumped around a bit haphazardly, consequently it didn't feel very much like a "guided tour". The thing I enjoyed most was the author's enthusiasm which was clear throughout.
I always find these introductory books enjoyable even when they're not particularly standout. I often find that they aren't as well suited for a general audience as they claim but better serve early level maths students or hobbyists.
I tend to enjoy seeing how different authors demonstrate the same concepts and there were a few examples in this one that I hadn't seen before but many are well known and widely used.
