hoooo boy. Best to go in fully blind so I'm gonna spoiler tag pretty much everything.

1. That was such a wild twisty ride! i really liked it.
2. I could tell something was afoot when there were no clear date markers in the first half of the book. They mentioned the day but not the year a few times, which had my spidey senses tingling. It absolutely SENT me that the timeline was revealed by smack talking dumb presidents. It was an immediate flag to me that they had both mentioned how dumb the president was, but didn't actually say which one. I didn't think that would end up the segue for the main reveal and I thought that was hilarious.
3. I didn't really like the last twist, which is what everyone is comparing to The Silent Patient. I could feel a Billy reveal coming and was really hoping I'd be wrong. Having Mr. Blue Eyes pretty much get away with everything was a bummer. His vigilante murder for Amanda doesn't absolve him of being a serial killer!
4. Ruth's ending was so frustrating. Yes, she needed to not be around the general public, but we didn't need to twist the knife by dangling her real attacker just out of reach. It would be more satisfying if everyone got a little justice, as a treat.
5. Honestly, I'd be haunting my mom if she burned my favorite toy, even if it was for her own healing.
