Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten

2.0

“i am ashamed at how desperately i want to be held, to feel a body against mine, letting me know everything, or even anything, is okay.”

“sometimes the people who most need saving don’t have any idea.”

there’s so much to unpack from this mess of a book. but let me try to sum it up. the author was definitely in a silly goofy mood when they wrote this.

nothing pisses me off more than a dead person coming back to life in books or movies. be dead and stay dead. mind you, the first half of the book was the dead girl’s best friend trying to figure out if she was murdered or if she actually unalived herself…then the second half we find out she’s alive??? PISS AWF!

another thing, june had no personality besides being delia’s friend. she’s sad and kind of lonely but none of that was explored…i don’t think i would ever want someone to consume my thoughts and actions as much as delia did june. it was unnnnhealthy!

the whole book carried us on a wild goose chase trying to solve a mystery that was not developed properly. so many things were left unanswered and up to interpretation. the serious topics weren’t addressed they were back burned. the parents in this book need a serious check
