I've read all three of this author's books now and they are all equally wonderful. All are about difficult life situations, but all are treated with care and hope. I love that about these books. "One for the Murphys" is about a child in foster care whose had a particularly difficult life. I know that some people will say that these hopeful depictions aren't realistic depictions, but, honestly, people don't pick up books to be pulled down into a whirlwind of trouble. They want to experience hope, to know that there are people out there who can be their superhero, and set them back on the right path. That's the message of 'One for the Murphys' - there are superheros, living amongst us, who can help...if we let them.
