The Shuddering
by Ania Ahlborn
It was fine.
I liked the characters and when it was intense, it was intense. But the in between dragged a lot. Could’ve been more tension built up throughout. The main characters spent 70% of the book completely unaware to the horror going on around them, with random , unrelated, one-off characters getting the brunt of it throughout the book. Because of this it never really felt like they were in danger until the falling action. Their personal melodrama was all that really kept their story interesting for most of the book.
It was just a bit of a slow read for me. I had to really force myself through it at parts.
