This was such a cute way to kick off the series! 🐎
I’ve already devoured both of Elsie’s other series, so reading this one felt like hopping in a time machine to see where it all began. It was fun, flirty, and totally readable, but I’d be lying if I said it hit me as hard as Chestnut Springs (which has my entire heart in a chokehold, no shame).
I kind of wish I’d read them in order, just so I could have experienced this with fresh eyes—because I did enjoy it, I swear! It just didn’t have that same can’t-breathe, can’t-blink level of emotional grip. But who knows? Maybe this series will surprise me and steal my heart too...
I’m especially excited to get to Violet’s book! I already know where it’s headed (Chestnut Springs gave me all the spoilers) but I am still so ready for the tension, the chaos, the angst. GIVE IT TO ME. And let’s be honest… I’m praying Hank is this series’ Harvey and starts dropping some unhinged, wildly quotable lines that live in my head rent-free. A girl needs her lovable menaces, okay?
