Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo

4.0

Weaving through a backdrop of England and, more specifically the opening of a play "The Last Amazon of Dahomey", this book takes the reader through the lives of different women. In the beginning, I really struggled with this book because there are so many characters to keep track of. However, I found myself investing as I entered the second part of the book because I could relate to so many facets of each new character. I can't really say that I have a favorite character, but I can say that Evaristo can create a believable character that has solid attributes, both good and bad. I would recommend this book to anyone who is on a journey of self-discovery or enjoys fabulous character development.
