I can’t stand Eden. She’s annoying, slow to understand, and an emotional big baby! I honestly don’t know how she’s survived this long. Yeah, she did a few cool badass smart things. But when it comes to human interaction she’s dense and way too wordy and lets her heart decide before she’s even used her brain. In chapter 32 it took her way too long to realize Beau was role playing, and once she did she asked to confirm. Like I get it, she’s inexperienced and this is all new to her. But Jesus girl just go with the flow and have some damn confidence. And don’t get me started with the whole Dom and Jasper thing, like she just assumed their feelings for her instead of allowing them to express them on their own, and cut them off before anything could even happen. Now she’s back tracking because she’s finally allowed them to talk. So frustrating.

Chapter 18 was a work of art! Beau and Lucky are easily the funniest characters, and the narration was hilariously well done. I wish there were more chapters without Eden.

The most annoying thing about this book (besides Eden) is the lack of real communication. Like they talk a lot, but don’t actually say what needs to be said, or settle what needs to be settled.

Also, the whole idea how Eden is falling in love with all of them, and they’re reciprocating when she’s fooled around once with all of them in the two weeks before she was captured *insert eye roll.* And her break down when she thought they were all dead. It just isn’t believable. Maybe if they had spent more time together, and she had been more intimate with each of them individually. But no.

I originally read the first book on KU, and quickly found out it was way too wordy of a book to read without frustration, so I switched to the audio for book 2…turns out it’s just as frustrating as book 1. Tons of filler, fluff, and a lot of over descriptions and details, a lot could have been left out and still have the same outcome. I found myself circling my hand in a get to the point gesture through out both books.

The most exciting part of this book was the ending. Only because I want to know what happens to Madison and Alastair. I hope Dom and Beau end up together, Jasper and Lucky, then Eden and Jayk…but I won’t hold my breath.

I’ll probably end up listening to book 3 when it comes out. But I personally wouldn’t recommend this series at all. Countless eye rolls, tons of frustrated sighs, and a lot of face balms. I honestly don’t know how this series has gotten such high reviews, besides the audio. The narration is duet style and perfection. Total all star cast is you ask me.
