If the Sun Never Sets by Ana Huang

So, I read this book without having read the first one… While it would have been helpful to read in order (obviously) the author did a great job of recapping the past, where I understood what happened between them.

I loved how this story was more than just the relationship between Farrah and Blake. Blake is dealing with his tumultuous relationship with his father and still suffering from the accident that occurred years ago. Meanwhile, Farrah is trying to find her next career opportunity after quitting her job. With Blake dealing with some more emotionally serious scenarios, he goes through a lot of personal growth where he has several revelations on how his approach to relationships are flawed. Seeing his progress of overcoming these obstacles had me really rooting for him.

I found myself being more attached to Blake as he was more relatable for me. I could relate to his difficult relationship with his father and wanting more than he had.

I was invested in Farrah and Blake’s relationship and I think I was more invested since I was listening to the audiobook. The narrators did a wonderful job and I listened to it all in one sitting!

Plenty of wonderful tropes were in this book but the one that I have found to be in a lot of books lately that continues to frustrate me is the miscommunication trope… Just like most books that include miscommunication, I found it irritating especially with how long it went on for.
