Maybe it’s because I’m newly postpartum (5 months). Or because I’m the biggest sucker for a guy who falls first and falls hard. Or maybe because I love a wink of a love triangle.

But this book was the best book I have read in a very long time. I cried! I haven’t cried in YEARS over a book and I couldn’t stop while reading this one.

“That’s what it means to be other-centered? To see the web? To treat everyone like they’re somebody’s favorite person on earth?”

That line right there? Got me. It changed my freaking brain chemistry. It made me cry so much, SO MUCH. This book was a love letter to romance of course but also to pregnancy. Like I said, I’m fresh off having a beautiful little baby so reading a book that so beautifully expresses so many emotions I had during pregnancy was like a blink back in time. It made me want to have another baby! (But like then i realized that would be insane.)

Shep? Maybe the literary love of my life. I married a very Shep-like man so I was swooning from the jump. He’s perfect, in basically every way. Ethan? Jesus help me. Ethan is a gem, I loved him! I loved that this was also a story that helped Ethan figure out who he was in his journey to becoming a dad! I loved him and how weepy he was.

“It hurts to realize that the world is so much bigger and more complicated than you thought it was. It’ll always hurt.”

Nurse Louisa, I could write a love letter to you and you alone you fictional ANGEL. She’s a side character but you know what she made me fall in love with her and made me love every other character more.

If you’ve made it this far let me just say. If you’ve HATED Colleen Hoovers “It Ends With Us” but loved the idea of a woman having a baby then falling for her childhood friend. READ THIS! It’s 1000% times better and there’s no DV in my eyes that’s a positive for sure! Shep and Ethan are WAY better than Atlas and Ryle!

Well this review was very long and honestly could’ve been longer. I loved this book. I’m going to read more from this author. And now I’m gonna go cuddle my baby! Bye book friends.

PS all the people complaining about this book being “woke” or whatever bs GET OVER YOURSELF. Stop being so freaking SENSITIVE! They talk about pronouns and the sex of the baby. Woo-freaking-hoo. It’s literally so brief. There could’ve been more the author could’ve gone into! Because IT IS stupid to just buy a little girl all pink! Do you know how HARD it is to match pinks with each other?!?! VERY! I have twin girls. I WOULD KNOW! And buying only boys trucks and blue? GROSS. Blue is so boring give me all the greens and yellows and neutrals! Not everything has to be gender specific!
