I wanted to love this book, because I enjoy Eddie Izzard’s stand-up comedy. But I found that this biography read as if done from speech to text, without a lot of organisation or planing. The constant, long footnotes were distracting. There were some delightful quips throughout, hence two stars, but I would not recommend this to a friend.
