Sea of Ruin by Pam Godwin

The woman pirate dark romance of my literal dreams. It took me a second to get into the cadence of the dialogue and writing style, but once I did... boy, was I sold. This book is DEFINITELY not for the easily triggered or faint of heart. There were very few things about the book that nettled me, but alas: some of the more descriptive compliments from Ashley were just cringe (although, I get that it's equivalent to the times) and the way that our dear protagonist, Bennett, was hyper-fixated on the attractiveness of the men (though even that grew on me as the book progressed). The punches weren't pulled (pun intended) in the fight scenes or the smut scenes and that was *greatly* appreciated. I was completely taken by surprise with how much I enjoyed this book - I raced through it. After the absolute TEASE that was the Blood and Ash series, I finally got my ménage a trois!! Bennett's fierce loyalty to her men and the bold way that she approached life's manhandling of her was inspiring, and I think the ending was absolute perfection.
