Empire of Ash by L.R.W. Lee

5.0

I received an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

My rating: 4,5 stars
it took about 60 pages for me to get hooked!!!!!

So I started reading the book and I was a bit confused by what I was reading. All types of food falling and then after going it on it hit me. There was an earthquake.
So I really enjoyed the start of the book. Pell was quite funny and I like the archeology twist. And then MR. Duster came along. Well hello to you too :D

The story revolves around some secret magic and Pell has to make the things right that she messed up. Will not tell you all the details. Just read it.
The story builds up and gets more interesting.
What I really like is that both main characters grow throughout the book. Especially Pell grows a lot which is also quite emotional for her.

Another thing I really liked was the detail in facts about the Egyptian history! It really gives the book charm. I loved the humor in the book and I really hope Pell stays that way.

Overall It is a really good book and definitely has a ya feel to it. I kinda hope the next book has a more mature feel to it.
