This Is Your Brain on Birth Control: The Surprising Science of Women, Hormones, and the Law of Unintended Consequences by Sarah E. Hill

informative fast-paced

4.0

I wanted to read this book because of an off-hand comment an evolutionary psychology professor made about birth control and its influence on partner selection and divorce rates. There wasn't that much info I could find back in 2018 when it was a topic of discussion in the class and even in this book Dr. Hill is very open about just how much little research has been done that show the effects and repercussions that birth control has on the people.
That being said it is still incredibly informative about what is currently known, and what further research needs to be done.
I do wish she elaborated on other reasons why someone would chose to take birth control, such PCOS, endometriosis, etc.. as the pill is often prescribed for more than just preventing pregnancy.
