172 Hours on the Moon
by Johan Harstad
This book was good, filled with thrilling suspense and had an original story idea. The 'villain'; creature, character, whatever it is you call it was also original and very fantastic.
However, I feel like it was dragged down due to the teenagers aspect. I understand it was a YA book, but having three teenagers sent to a knowingly (very) hostile environment, with only a few months of training because they won some PR contest seems completely unrealistic. Not to mention ultimately a lot more negative PR then positive.
I wish they'd stuck to fully trained, adult astronauts and kept the story within the limits of the believably possible.
