We Are All Made of Molecules by Susin Nielsen

4.0

Very sweet read. I would say it leans way more towards juvenile fiction than teen, but since it includes the subjects of date rape, cyberbullying, and homophobia, it might be too adult for some kids. The book is about Stewart, a gifted kid who doesn't have the best social skills and his new step-sister, Ashley who is a very mean, popular girl. The chapters alternate between their points of view as they grow used to living together and as Stewart struggles with the death of his mom and Ashley with her dad's coming out. There are some corny moments, but I would compare the book to Wonder in that its corniness is tempered with very likeable characters and humor.
