The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

5.0

When one of my good friends let me borrow this book I wasn't expecting to be so engulfed.
Some part of the book felt more like a dream than a read, I waste aware of anything while reading it. The story just sucked me right in. The main character, Katniss, is definitely an iconic character, and one of the best I've read. I love her strength, both mental and physical. I love her friendship and bond with Gale, her best friend, and her will to survive.
The brainpower it took for her and Haymitch to communicate through gifts of the sponsors showed how similar they truly are, eve though she may think he hates her.
Then there's Peeta, oh poor Peeta, I feel so bad for him in the sadness of what happened between him and Katniss.
Over all, amazing, I highly recommend!
