Beginner's Luck by Kate Clayborn

5.0

This was such a good book that I found it hard to believe it's a first novel for this author. All the characters are believable and relatable and no one is an asshole. I loved that the heroine is a scientist and the hero is all about that. Partly for his job as a corporate recruiter and partly for himself. Issues in his past and with communication are a problem for the couple but they work through it in realistic ways. I enjoyed Kit and her friends and her brother, Ben and his dad, and really the whole community. I've pre-ordered the second book in the series already. There had better be a book about Kit's brother too.

One of my favorite contemporaries of the year!
