"The Mistake" is the second book in the Off-Campus series and follows Hockey player John and psychology student Grace. Everyone around campus knows John as a player; he sleeps with everyone and is never in a series relationship. John has his bachelor life planned out, until he meets Grace. Grace makes him see the light and want more for his life.
I really enjoyed seeing their relationship develop, however I felt like Grace was really immature. When John did something that hurt her, she just ghosted him and left the country for the summer. She refused to speak to him or hear him out. I respect that what he did was a jerk move, but she could have at least heard him out. I have similar feelings about her and her toxic best friend, however, I did ultimately like how Grace chose to handle that and how their story played out. This story also tackles the issue of an alcoholic parent. I think it was handled well, but it was just not a plot point I wanted in a light romance. Overall, this was very okay, but I will continue on with this series.
