This book was a great book and sometimes I found it hard to put it down. I went into this book knowing about the sexual assault scene/mention as I learned about this book from Lexi aka NewlyNova on Youtube so I was worried about how the trauma would be handled. While it could have been handled better, as a survivor of sexual assault, I felt it was adequately handled and was in fact somewhat triggering which is rare for a book to cause for me. Carolyn's response and coping mechanisms due to the immense trauma she faced both growing up and from the constant raping felt real and it made me feel seen as her ignoring it and pretending it wasn't that bad is something I do. However, the end felt a little rushed as the sudden change in personality from Father's side felt like a quick attempt to "fix" Carolyn.
