The Love Project by T.B. Markinson, Miranda MacLeod

1.0

I was very close to a dnf with this one. The idea sounded promising: someone who is on the ace spectrum and thinks they're "broken" because they have never experienced sexual attraction the way others seem to. Add that to the fact that Hope is also socially inept to the point of possibly being on the autism spectrum and the fact that literally everyone in the book, including the people who care about her, treats her like absolute shit and finds their terrible behaviour hilarious. Even her love interest (who literally just finds her incredibly attractive and, strangely enough, thinks she's a dead ringer for her uni crush, a straight best friend) treats her terribly and sabotages her own matchmaking attempts.
